Frequency of New Characters
Although Saint Seiya Awakening KOTZ does not have an official or documented character release schedule, it has followed the same pattern for years: one new character is released each month. The release date is usually around the middle of the month. At the start of the game, banners were released a bit more frequently—with some years featuring 14 characters, months with double banners, and so on. But since around 2022, we’ve had only one character per month, released after the monthly Jamir tournament (in Global and SEA), and an annual total of 9 S-rank characters and 3 SS- and EX-rank characters. New A-rank characters are also added, but they come through events or the general pool.
Differences by Game Region
Saint Seiya Awakening has many versions depending on the game region, including Global, SEA, China, Taiwan, and Japan. You can find more details in the Game Regions Guide. The banners differ across the various versions: Characters are released first in the Chinese version. Currently, the process is set up so that characters first arrive on the test server, then in the Chinese version of the game, and usually a month later they arrive in the Global, SEA, and Taiwan versions. Japan is the last to receive them.
