Atavaka – Earthly Chief Star is the next S-rank unit coming to Saint Seiya Awakening. The character has just arrived on the test server, joining the long list of characters from the The Lost Canvas spin-off. Atavaka is a new S-rank Spectre; it has been a long time since we last saw one—specifically, since Garuda Aiacos in January.
Atavaka is an interesting Spectre, despite ranking among the Terrestrial Specters, his cosmic power rivaled that of the Three Judges of the Underworld. Operating independently without true loyalty to Hades, Atavaka absorbed millions of human souls into his own body to exponentially increase his cosmos, using them as both a source of power and an impenetrable shield.
As the thematic antithesis to the Virgo Gold Saints, Atavaka sought to trap all consciousness in eternal torment rather than guiding souls toward enlightenment and reincarnation. This is reflected in his skill set—acting somewhat as a counter to Virgo Asmita (which is unusual, given that his skill costs 2 energy points)—allowing him to apply crowd control and deal damage. It is still too early to fully grasp his capabilities; this review will be updated as the character evolves and undergoes changes.
