Leo Aiolia is one of the few Force-type area-of-effect DPS characters in the game. Under the right conditions, the Leo Saint can still produce a surprising amount of damage. Lightning Plasma gives him immediate AoE pressure, Thunder Bolt adds repeated follow-up lightning strikes, and his Awakened skill greatly improves his output when enemies are already under crowd control, even allowing extra multi-hit attacks in the right setup. That interaction is the main reason he was traditionally paired with Frost or other AoE control teams.
The issue is that he depends too heavily on those conditions to function well. Without reliable teamwide crowd control, a large part of his damage ceiling disappears, and on his own he is just an energy-hungry DPS with no real defensive utility. Modern damage dealers are usually more independent, more efficient, or bring stronger secondary effects, which leaves Aiolia with only a small number of viable compositions. He can still work, but only in narrow teams built specifically to enable him.
