Leo Kaiser remains one of the most unique summon-oriented Saints in Saint Seiya Awakening, and while his Rebirth finally addresses some of his long-standing issues, it unfortunately falls short of making him a true meta contender.
Kaiser’s entire kit revolves around Goldi, his armored lion companion. Goldi assists Kaiser’s attacks, supports allied summons, and provides steady offensive pressure through multiple follow-up attacks. The Rebirth improves this synergy by allowing Goldi to respawn at the start of every round instead of waiting two full turns, significantly increasing Kaiser’s consistency during longer battles.
The update also enhances Goldi’s offensive capabilities. Every Lion Claw assist now automatically triggers Enraged Bite, adding an extra hit and giving Kaiser much better burst potential. Even better, some of these bites now deal True Damage, allowing Goldi to bypass defensive stats and threaten even heavily protected enemies.
However, the improvements come with strict limitations. Goldi’s additional assists are capped at five activations per turn, while the powerful True Damage effect can only trigger three times per turn. Compared to modern summon-based characters, these restrictions severely limit Kaiser’s overall impact. His lion also fails to return immediately after Kaiser is revived, leaving him significantly weaker during crucial turns.
Overall, Leo Kaiser is certainly more playable than before and has excellent synergy with modern summon compositions. Nevertheless, his restrictive mechanics prevent him from competing with the strongest PvP units. He remains a fun choice for players who enjoy summon-focused teams, but he is still far from becoming a top-tier Saint.
