Apollo is perhaps the best control unit in the game. His “Blind” skill affects the entire opposing team, and with a 50% chance of activation, prevents the opponent from executing their move, but causes them to waste their turn and energy. Apollo has a very strong AoE control skill which only costs 1 energy point. However, to take advantage of it, Apollo must be the first to move, which means we need him to be very fast.
The God of Sun is one of the most disruptive and influential SS Saints ever introduced in Saint Seiya Awakening. As a powerful God-tier unit, he combines battlefield control, burn mechanics, survivability, and explosive damage into a kit capable of dominating both PvP and long engagements.
What immediately sets Apollo apart is his unique Blindness debuff. Unlike traditional crowd control effects, Blindness gives affected enemies a chance to completely fail their actions, including attacks, support skills, and energy-consuming abilities. Since Apollo can apply this effect to the entire enemy team for a very low energy cost, he effectively turns battles into a game of probability, creating constant pressure and forcing opponents to adapt their strategy around his presence.
Apollo’s gameplay revolves around two distinct forms: his Helios Chariot form and his combat form. While riding the chariot, he enjoys massive damage reduction, crowd-control immunity, and the ability to spread Burn stacks across the battlefield. Once enough Burns have accumulated, Apollo can dismount, detonate those effects for devastating damage, and unleash powerful follow-up attacks fueled by Light Flames.
His flexibility is another major strength. Apollo can function as a dedicated controller with minimal skill-book investment or evolve into a high-damage threat when fully upgraded. This makes him valuable for both free-to-play and veteran players looking for a long-term PvP investment.
Being fast is normal for controls in the game, and Apollo being the most powerful control, you will have to invest heavily in cosmos, or otherwise, carry a unit like Defteros to speed him up. While Apollo is incredibly powerful, he is not invincible. Fast cleansing units can remove Blindness, and many passive or off-turn effects bypass his control mechanics entirely. Nevertheless, his ability to disrupt enemy turns and dictate the pace of battle places him firmly among the strongest units in the current meta.
