Divine Cloth Pegasus Tenma has quickly become one of the most controversial and explosive damage dealers in the current meta. While many players initially labeled him as a support unit because of his cost reduction mechanics and ally link system, his actual performance tells a completely different story. Tenma is a hyper-scaling offensive character that revolves around self-buffing, repeated attacks, speed control, and devastating true damage conversions.
The core of Tenma’s power comes from his passive mechanics. He is naturally immune to control effects and can revive multiple times during battle, making him extremely difficult to permanently remove. Every round he survives without triggering resurrection, he gains additional Physical Attack, allowing him to scale harder and harder as fights continue. Once his resurrection charges are exhausted, his active skill becomes even cheaper, turning him into an incredibly efficient damage machine.
One of the most misunderstood parts of his kit is the “God Slayer Link” mechanic. At the start of battle, Tenma selects an ally and reduces that ally’s energy costs while also gaining offensive bonuses based on their stats. This interaction led many players to think he was designed as a support character, but the reality is the opposite. The linked ally exists mainly to accelerate Tenma’s own scaling and damage output. Characters that move multiple times per turn, like Serafina or Yoma, become ideal partners because they rapidly generate Desire Power stacks for Tenma.
As Desire Power accumulates, Tenma unlocks permanent bonuses during combat. He gains massive Speed boosts, additional AoE damage, huge Physical Attack increases, survivability improvements, and eventually converts his active skill into true damage. Because of that, optimal builds focus heavily on Speed, Critical Rate, Penetration, and Physical Attack rather than pure raw stats. Fast rotations are essential because Tenma becomes significantly stronger when acting before opponents. Team synergy is also extremely important. Tenma works best in fast-paced compositions where allies act repeatedly and generate constant momentum. Serafina is one of his strongest partners because she amplifies final damage while also cycling turns rapidly.
In competitive matches, Tenma has shown the ability to completely dismantle both fast and slow teams alike. Once fully online, he can repeatedly wipe enemy units, force multiple revives, and continue applying pressure through resurrection-triggered counterattacks. Even against strong defensive setups, his scaling eventually becomes overwhelming. Tenma is a very interesting and powerful unit, but we have to understand him correctly to get all of his potential.
