Surplice Gemini Aspros is an aggressive Control unit that can create chaotic fights through repeated Confusion pressure. He is still very fun to use, and when he starts cycling effects, he can force enemies to lose tempo and damage their own side.
His kit has strong internal synergy. Galaxy Explosion is the main active control tool, with multiple hits that give several chances to apply Confusion and punish priority targets. He can get self-purification, tempo swing, and Magnetic Pole targeting utility after the condition is met. Galaxy Dance ties everything together by cleansing Confusion on the field and converting it into extra Galaxy Explosion triggers plus C.DEF Pierce scaling, which can snowball in longer rounds.
In the current meta, he is better viewed as a solid Control pick rather than a frontline meta-defining option. He can be very effective in fast, aggressive control setups, but he needs high speed investment and careful energy planning because Galaxy Explosion costs 2 energy early. He performs best as a proactive tempo disruptor and niche counter-control choice, especially for players who enjoy high-interaction control teams.
After the Awakened Cloth, Aspros hasn’t changed much; he’s now a better control unit with a sort of splash damage. The Awakened Cloth allows him to spread the confusion mark more widely using the Galaxy Explosion. There aren’t many other variations—he still does what he does well, and even better. But the problem is that this type of crowd control is still a bit off-meta. Is there a place for him? With so many bans in high-tier leagues, yes. But he requires a very fast setup and a well-defined strategy.
