Capricorn Izo is the newest Capricorn Saint and one of the simplest units in the game: a physical single-target DPS whose only job is to attack. Everything he does revolves around Sword Marks, a debuff he applies with his basic attack, his main skill and his counterattacks. The more marks an enemy carries, the more hits his main skill lands and the more bonus damage his passive adds, while Izo himself gains speed and starts every round with a big boost to his crit.
In practice you will only use his main skill: it destroys shields, including special ones, applies marks and then lands a long chain of hits on a single target, which makes it devastating inside a combo. Its cost is his main limitation, because 2 energy for a single-target skill is a lot. His marks are fragile as well: they can be purified, and in the current shield meta every marked enemy that gains a shield consumes one mark automatically, ruining the stacking he depends on.
So where does he stand? Izo is still a very niche pick. He is one of the best answers to shields, but the top teams play around it: small shields that purify or come back constantly, tanks that absorb his burst and resurrection mechanics he cannot stop. He is also easy to shut down, because blind or silence leaves him with nothing, and the true damage from his marks is too small to matter.
His counters are well known: Camus Surplice, whose ice coffins punish multi-hit attackers and purify his marks when they break, Virgo Asmita, Hashun and Asgard. Is he worth building? Not right now unless your account can afford him. He needs a large amount of skill tomes, so playing him half-built is a waste, and he has never really shown up in Jamir China, which tells you how the competitive scene sees him. Invest in him only if you like the character or you already play a fast combo team; otherwise your books are better spent elsewhere.
