Kaiju No. 8 (Strike from the Kaiju Dimension) arrives as one of the most interesting 5-Star units released so far. Rather than simply increasing raw stats, his design revolves around a unique Transcendence system that essentially gives him two different combat states. The result is a character capable of delivering devastating single-target damage while introducing one of the strongest utility effects currently available.
Before entering his Phase Transition, Kaiju No. 8 functions as a straightforward blunt attacker that gradually builds Transcendence Gauge through both his own actions and his teammates’. Once the gauge is full, he immediately advances his turn, transforms, and upgrades his entire moveset. His enhanced abilities gain Lightning damage, increased Critical Damage, Defense Penetration, and stronger offensive scaling, turning him into a terrifying boss killer capable of deleting priority targets.
Despite being heavily focused on single-target damage, his kit offers more than raw numbers. His transformation window allows multiple consecutive actions, creating explosive turns that can completely shift a battle’s momentum. Even more impressive is his late-game passive, which converts multiple elemental plates at the beginning of combat. This dramatically improves team flexibility by reducing the need to perfectly match enemy plate types, making him valuable beyond his personal damage output.
The main drawback is that his full potential requires careful team building. Support characters accelerate his Transcendence Gauge more efficiently, while Speed manipulation helps maximize his transformation window. Additionally, some of his strongest upgrades are locked behind duplicate copies, making them unrealistic for many free-to-play players.
Overall, Kaiju No. 8 (Strike from the Kaiju Dimension) is nice first anniversary character release. While he may not completely redefine every game mode, his combination of burst damage, unique mechanics, and exceptional utility makes him an excellent long-term investment for players seeking a premium single-target carry. Worth to summon? Mmm let’s wait for the next characters.
