Iharu Furuhashi (Flash-Fierce Talent) is a surprisingly strong addition to Kaiju No. 8 The Game, especially for players building an Additional Damage-focused team. As a general pool character, he is not necessarily a unit you should actively chase, but his kit gives him excellent long-term value if you happen to obtain him naturally.
His biggest strength is his Menace mechanic. Whenever an ally deals Additional Damage, Iharu gains Menace stacks, increasing the multiplier of his own Additional Damage. This makes him scale particularly well alongside other Additional Damage dealers. His passive also grants him a special Blitz turn, triggering a powerful Overflow Attack with multiple Additional Damage hits. Combined with his Ultimate and Selfless Flow, he can produce a significant amount of sustained damage rather than relying exclusively on one burst window.
His dual Shot/Lightning attributes are another advantage, while his Ultimate provides strong single-target damage and additional hits. For skill investment, the Passive should be prioritized first, followed by the Ultimate and then the Combat Skill. His signature shotgun is also exceptionally strong, providing Crit Rate and massive bonuses to Overflow and Additional Damage, although the limited number of shotgun options makes his equipment choices somewhat restrictive.
For Uni-Parts, Spider Type B is clearly the preferred set, offering Crit Rate, Attack, Additional Damage, and Additional Damage Crit Damage. Lizard Type A and Fungal Type A are reasonable alternatives.
Iharu’s dupes are useful but not mandatory. A2 is the most attractive breakpoint, extending Selfless Flow and adding Menace after his Ultimate. A6 is extremely powerful for players willing to invest heavily, but his base kit already performs well. So, as a character who isn’t limited—but can still appear in the pool if we roll for others—it’s a bit tricky to recommend if you don’t have an Extra Damage team. In other words, spending summons on this character right now might not be the best idea. But he is a good character—yes, he is.
In the end, Iharu is a very strong general pool character, but not a must-summon. If you obtain Iharu, build him—especially if you already have several Additional Damage characters. For most players, however, save your resources and let him appear naturally over time. Over the next few days, I’ll be testing him more extensively to determine his place on the Tier List.
