Mina Ashiro (Dazzling Splash)
Profile Update

The arrival of Mina Ashiro (Dazzling Splash) in Kaiju No. 8 The Game brings a fresh face to the roster, but she ultimately fails to make a significant splash in the current meta. As a Water Shot attacker, her entire kit revolves around dealing blast damage, advancing her action order, and utilizing a unique Hydro Load stacking mechanic that fuels her ultimate. Her highest high is undoubtedly her ultimate’s ability to randomly destroy a target plate (PLT), adding some welcome disruptive utility to the battlefield.

However, when you stack her raw output against other units, she just doesn’t punch hard enough to justify the hype. The most glaring issue is her lack of banner exclusivity. Because she is permanently added to the general summon pool, burning your hard-earned gems on her banner is a major trap—she will eventually spook you on future pulls anyway. Furthermore, her passive damage buffs are heavily gated behind attacking core-exposed enemies.

Her kit revolves around Hydro Load, a unique mechanic that increases the power of her Ultimate as stacks accumulate. Hydro Load is generated whenever she attacks Core Exposed enemies or when allies destroy enemy plates, making team composition extremely important. With the right partners constantly exposing cores and breaking plates, Mina maintains a steady offensive rhythm and unleashes significantly stronger Ultimate attacks. Also, one of her biggest strengths is her high Action Order manipulation. Both her Follow-Up Skill and Passive repeatedly advance her turns, allowing Mina to act much more frequently than many other attackers.

This means she cannot function effectively in a vacuum; you are forced to run dedicated teammates who can consistently strip armor and expose cores just to turn her basic multipliers online. While stacking her with the Lizard Unipart set and pushing for her higher dupes can make her impressively fast on the turn-order tracker, she remains a deeply situational luxury rather than a must-pull priority.

Veterans and free-to-play players alike are far better off hoarding their resources for limited powerhouses, especially with major anniversary banners looming on the horizon. She is also not a limited character so, not worthy to spend right now.

+ Pros

  • Strong Water / Shot AoE damage.
  • Hydro Load significantly boosts Ultimate damage.
  • Frequent Action Order advancement allows more turns.
  • Randomly destroys an additional enemy PLT with her Ultimate.
  • Multiple viable weapon alternatives besides her signature.

Cons

  • Relies heavily on Core Exposed enemies to reach full potential.
  • Requires specific team compositions for maximum efficiency.
  • Signature weapon is helpful but not game-changing.
  • General pool character, making her a lower summoning priority than limited units.
  • Good overall performance, but doesn't stand out among the game's strongest attackers.
