Jura Igarashi “Grit and Duty” is a Support unit in Kaiju No. 8 The Game focused entirely on DoT (Damage over Time) team enhancement, and one of the most impactful upgrades to this playstyle so far. While she’s given for free (base copy), her true power scales significantly with minimal investment—especially her first ascension.
Her kit revolves around enabling and amplifying burn-based damage. With her Combat Skill, she applies “Hot Blooded” to all allies, granting ATK, SPD, and DMG Dealt buffs, making her a strong general support at baseline. However, her real value lies in her DoT synergy.
Her Ultimate applies Burn (DoT) and introduces Afterburn, a unique mechanic that triggers an additional DoT instance equal to a percentage of the total DoT damage applied. This is what defines her: she doesn’t just add DoT—she multiplies the effectiveness of all existing DoT sources in the team.
This makes her a core unit in DoT compositions, synergizing extremely well with characters like Akari or other burn/electric DoT units. At higher investment (especially Ascension 1), she can nearly double total DoT damage output, making her a meta-defining support for this archetype.
She also provides utility like DEF penetration, faster Ultimate generation, and team-wide DoT multipliers, further reinforcing her role as a specialized offensive support.
However, her strength is very team-dependent. Outside of DoT comps, her value drops significantly compared to universal supports. Additionally, her first dupe (Ascension 1) is almost mandatory to unlock her full potential, which slightly offsets the advantage of receiving her for free.
