Overwhelming Pride
- After activating Combat Skill, this unit's Ultimate Gauge +30.
Gen Narumi Future Sight is a dual-attribute Slash/Shot Attacker known for his exceptional plate-breaking power and strong self-sustained damage scaling. He can increase his own damage output, charge his Ultimate Gauge, and recover SP under specific conditions, making him both efficient and versatile in longer fights.
His Ultimate inflicts the Seen Through state on enemies, allowing him to randomly destroy Plates and rapidly trigger Core Exposed. Thanks to his dual attributes, Gen excels in battles with multiple Physical Plates, consistently weakening enemies and opening them up for massive damage.
Unlocked Potential: Gen Narumi receives one of the most substantial Unlock Potential upgrades among older characters. His main weakness was that, while his Seen Through mechanics were strong, he was relatively slow at breaking plates and his damage had fallen behind newer DPS units.
The upgrade significantly improves his damage, Critical Damage, Ultimate efficiency, and plate-breaking utility. His passive now provides additional Ultimate Gauge at the start of battle, helping him access his Ultimate much earlier without depending as heavily on specific support or equipment. His Combat Skill also receives a much higher multiplier and can recover SP when attacking a Core-Exposed Kaiju or destroying a plate, effectively making the attack much more efficient.
His Ultimate is arguably the biggest improvement: it now applies Seen Through before attacking, deals considerably more damage, and destroys five plates instead of his previous lower count. This makes Narumi considerably more reliable in modern content with enemies carrying large numbers of plates.
Overall, the Unlock Potential transforms Narumi into a much more complete single-target DPS and plate-breaking specialist. He should become useful across a wide variety of content and could return to God Tier status. His synergy with characters such as Hikari remains particularly valuable because of the benefits they receive from the Seen Through mechanic.
