Rangiku Matsumoto may only be an SR unit in Bleach Soul Resonance, but she performs far above what most players would expect from a free-to-play support character. Designed primarily for Thrust-based teams, Rangiku brings a massive amount of utility through buffs, Ailment scaling, and ultimate support. While she may not completely replace premium supports like Kisuke, she is one of the best accessible options currently available.
Her biggest strength comes from her ultimate ability. At maximum Boundary level, Rangiku can provide an impressive Thrust Damage increase to the entire team, and her weapon stamp can push that even further with another boost. For an SR character, that level of team amplification is extremely valuable, especially in compositions built around characters like Gin or other Ailment-focused DPS units.
Unlike traditional DPS characters, Rangiku does not need offensive stats to function properly. Her role is entirely centered around buffing allies and maintaining uptime on her support effects. Because of this, the most important stats for her are Ailment Damage Bonus and Ultimate Charge Rate. Keeping her ultimate available as often as possible is the key to maximizing her value.
One of her most interesting mechanics is tied to her Boundary 2 passive, which allows teammates to gain additional Ailment Damage based on Rangiku’s own bonus stats. This creates some surprisingly high scaling potential, especially when paired with sets like Gin’s Mocking Visage. With enough investment, she can dramatically improve overall team damage despite contributing very little direct damage herself.
