Gluttonous Soul Nunchaku Ban is the immortal member of the Seven Deadly Sins and the owner of the Boar Hat tavern alongside Meliodas. Arriving as an SSR character, he offers one of the most flexible kits in the game, covering three weapons and three different elements: a self-sufficient Physical Nunchaku build, a tanky Earth Greatsword build, and a Darkness Gauntlets build that doubles as a top-tier Burst Specialist.
His Physical DPS branch is arguably the most universally useful. Ban can benefit from 90% of Attack buffs from every non-Physical element, allowing him to take advantage of powerful supports regardless of their elemental specialization. His Chain mechanic also increases Critical Rate and Defense Break, while his Ultimate becomes the centerpiece of his rotation: at maximum Chains, it adds extra hits and grants up to 60% increased damage for 10 seconds. Since the Ultimate only costs two orbs, maintaining this burst window should be relatively manageable.
The Earth Berserker branch is more specialized but potentially devastating. After activating his Ultimate, Ban enters Berserker mode and can repeatedly spam his Normal Skill without cooldown, progressively increasing its damage. However, this version appears more dependent on dupes, especially for reaction immunity and damage reduction while attacking. Without those upgrades, his aggressive playstyle may be easier to interrupt.
Finally, his Dark support branch may be the most important option for established Dark teams. Ban provides Dark Attack, Dark Weakness, Defense reduction, increased Dark damage, and the ability to extend Dark Burst windows by freezing their duration. Importantly, these buffs are not exclusive to a single DPS, making him a flexible partner for multiple Dark damage dealers. He synergizes with characters like Meliodas and Derieri.
If you want one Ban build that can work almost anywhere, prioritize the Physical DPS branch. Its ability to benefit from nearly every type of Attack buff gives it exceptional flexibility. Earth Ban looks stronger in a dedicated setup, while Dark Ban becomes increasingly valuable as Dark teams gain more powerful DPS options.
Overall, Ban looks like one of the safest characters to invest in because of his flexibility. He may not be the absolute best option in every situation, but having access to a powerful Physical DPS, a dedicated Earth damage dealer, and a Dark team support makes him an exceptionally adaptable character with long-term value.
