Resolution of a Defense Officer
- While in Kaiju form, this unit's ATK +10%.
Kafka Hibino [The Man Who Became a Kaiju] is an Attacker with a unique transformation mechanic that shifts his role mid-battle. He begins as a Shot-type DPS, but after using his first Ultimate, he permanently transforms into his Kaiju form, changing into a Blunt-type Attacker for the remainder of the fight.
Kafka’s defining strength lies in this transformation. Upon entering Kaiju form, his Combat Skill becomes an AoE Attack, significantly improving his ability to handle multiple enemies. This makes him especially effective in wave-based stages or encounters with clustered foes. Because his transformation lasts until the end of battle, it’s generally optimal to activate his Ultimate early to maximize uptime in Kaiju form.
While his base form is more straightforward, his Kaiju state enhances his offensive presence and gives him better coverage in mob-heavy content. The shift from Shot to Blunt typing also allows him to adapt to different enemy resistances after transforming, adding flexibility to team building.
Tier List Placement: T4 Attacker. While this ranking reflects that there are stronger options available, Kafka Hibino [The Man Who Became a Kaiju] was released around February 2026 and currently ranks at T4 in the Attacker category — a below-average placement that reflects his transformation-reliant power curve and competition from other Attackers. However, his unique gameplay mechanic makes him one of the most interesting units to play.
Kafka’s defining feature is his Kaiju transformation. Upon using his Ultimate, he permanently shifts from a Shot-type DPS into a Blunt-type powerhouse with an AoE Combat Skill. This transformation not only changes his damage type (allowing him to bypass certain enemy resistances) but also significantly boosts his wave-clearing potential. The transformation heals him to full HP upon activation, which can be a lifesaver in tough encounters.
His Wholehearted Support skill helps set up his transformation by reducing enemy DEF and boosting his own SPD, while his passive grants ATK and DEF bonuses in Kaiju form. The main drawback is that Kafka’s damage before transformation is mediocre, and he relies entirely on reaching his Ultimate to become effective. This makes him less consistent in fast clears but potentially rewarding in longer battles. He is best suited for PvE content where his transformation can fully shine.
