After several months of waiting, we finally have the next SS-rank character in Saint Seiya Awakening: War Goddess Sasha. This is the translated name from the Chinese 战争女神·萨莎, pending the official name in the global version. With Sasha Athena now in the game, we now have all three main characters from the manga The Lost Canvas.
This is the anniversary unit for the Chinese edition of the game, which, as we know, is the original edition of Saint Seiya Awakening Kotz. The character plays a support role, and as time goes on, we’ll learn more about her. Like any character of that tier, she’ll likely be meta, and players will need to invest new volumes in her. Apart from that, there hasn’t been much news regarding special anniversary events in China. In previous years, there were events, a new song, and so on. Perhaps more news will emerge as the weeks go by. Personally, I’d like to see an announcement regarding licenses for other Saint Seiya spin-offs.
When will Athena Sasha arrive in Global?
Well, we should get War Goddess Sasha in September, considering she’s set to be released in early August in China. She’ll also be our anniversary unit, barring any other events. Let’s not forget that the game has seen more activity on the technical side and bug fixes in recent months.
As for the global server, the upcoming event is the Galactic Championship World Tournament. It remains to be seen who the final participants will be, and whether DanteV—the reigning champion and one of the most iconic players on the Americas server—will participate.
