We’ve been talking about this for a while, and now it’s pretty much official. Bambietta Basterbine is the next character coming to Bleach: Soul Resonance as part of the ongoing Thousand-Year Blood War collaboration event.
Following the release of Ichigo Kurosaki — Dual Zangetsu on July 15, the next banner is scheduled to drop on August 5, and according to leaks and teasers, Bambietta won’t just be any ordinary addition, there are some rumors (not confirmed) that she may introduce a brand new typing to the game.
A short teaser for the character has been released: it’s not an in-game video, but rather an intro sequence—a full-fledged animation. The source is Developers Bilibili account (in China), and we should have more details about the character in the coming days.
For those unfamiliar with the source material, Bambietta Basterbine is a Sternritter of the Vandenreich in the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. She bears the letter “E” — The Explode, which grants her the ability to turn anything she touches into an explosive bomb. Her Vollständig, “Buzzard B」, amplifies this power even further, turning her bombs into devastating red energy orbs.
She leads her own squadron within the Sternritter ranks, commanding Candice Catnipp, Giselle Gewelle, Liltotto Lamperd, and Meninas McAllon — known collectively as Bambietta’s Elite. Despite her cute appearance, Bambietta is ruthless, sadistic, and harbors a deep disdain for those weaker than her. She’s one of the most popular Sternritter in the franchise, appearing in almost every Bleach game to date.

Ichigo is already available and will remain summonable for 68 days, so there’s plenty of time. The hope is that all four characters will be accessible simultaneously later in the event. We talked about these new roster in the past.
Rumors about a New Type
The most interesting part of the rumors is that we might be getting a new character type. In other words, we already have Thrust, Slash, Strike, and Spirit. And one more would be added. Some leakers think Bambietta will be the first character in the game with a brand new type — a fifth type alongside the current four.
If is true, this means players pulling for Bambietta will likely want to collect the other two characters to build a complete team around this new type.
Bambietta’s arrival comes at an interesting time. The current banner featuring Neliel alongside Ichigo has had mixed reception — she’s been considered somewhat mediocre when paired with Ichigo, though she’s become more viable as players have learned the optimal rotations. With Bambietta bringing a new typing, Neliel gains a bit more value as a bridging option, but saving for Bambietta might be the smarter move depending on how impactful this new typing ends up being.
