We have a new Ichigo, this time in his Dual Zangetsu variant. This brings the total to five—three SSRs and two SRs. From the start, this struck me as a bit odd, considering that having five variants of the protagonist (excluding the releases of the Ulquiorra and Grimmjow SR+ units) had never happened before. But above all, because we recently got Ichigo Inner Hollow, which was very well received. But anyway, that’s just how the devs roll.
The interesting thing is that this new Ichigo is part of a collaboration event with three other units (yes, it’s weird—Bleach has collaborations with its own franchise), which may be:
- Bambietta releasing on August 5
- Uryu releasing on August 26
- Candice releasing on September 16
Is it confirmed? No.
This info comes from Bleach Leaks News on X. But we don’t have anything confirmed—not from the dataminers’ leaks, not from any other source, and certainly not from an official source. And it’s important to remember here that Bandai does a terrible job marketing the game. Even new units are announced just days before their release banner—or even the day before.
Do you have to save?: For now, we only have Ichigo Dual Zangetsu, which is an excellent unit.
But if everything continues as it seems to be, the collaboration is also expected to introduce new Quincy enemies and bosses, with Candice following a recent pattern where characters first appear as bosses before becoming playable. The event could last around 85 days, making it one of the longest collaborations so far.
Overall, the collaboration is shaping up to be one of the game’s biggest updates, featuring a strong TYBW character lineup, an extended event duration, and enough free rewards for most players to secure at least one featured SSR without spending premium currency.
