Kensei Muguruma is the next character coming to Bleach: Soul Resonance, and this time we won’t have to wait for the official reveal: his summon animation, gameplay and full kit have already leaked ahead of a release that, going by the footage, lands this Wednesday, October 14. I mean, we have something at least 2 days before the release, not 2 hours.
[Update] In a move that surprises no one, the developers have decided to delay the character’s release (with no announced date)—much like what happened with Bambietta—and will provide in-game gifts for each day of the delay. The character might launch this Friday, or we may have to wait another week.
That date fits the usual pattern: the four-unit Thousand-Year Blood War collaboration that started with Ichigo Kurosaki — Dual Zangetsu and ran through Bambietta, Vollstandig Uryu and Candice closes out, and Kensei takes its place with a solo banner. He arrives in his Thousand-Year Blood War design — captain’s mohawk included, instead of the long-haired captain look or his street clothes — as a Strike · Support, the role the archetype has been short on.
His preview page is already up with the numbers from the leak, and we’ll keep it updated as they change. Keep in mind that these are temporal values: several percentages have already been adjusted between builds, so read everything below as a preview of how he plays rather than as final numbers.
Banner, art and everything else that leaked
The summon animation itself is currently unvoiced in the leaked build, which is normal this early — the usual expectation is that the voice lines are added before or on release day.
For anyone who doesn’t know him from the source material, Kensei Muguruma is the captain of the 9th Division of the Gotei 13 and one of the Visored — captains and lieutenants Hollowfied by Aizen’s experiments and exiled for a century before being reinstated during the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. His Zanpakutō is Tachikaze, and his Bankai, Tekken Tachikaze, armors his arms and turns him into a pure brawler, which is exactly what the game’s Iron Fist skill names reference.
What’s next
Kensei should go live on Wednesday, October 14, and we’ll update this post and his character page with the final numbers once the banner is up. After that, the next Battle Pass — expected in roughly two weeks — is reported to feature the last missing Bambie, Liltotto Lamperd, which would finally complete the squad alongside Bambietta, Meninas, Giselle and Candice.
