Uryu Ishida is an interesting SR character in Bleach Soul Resonance, he offers a playstyle centered around off-field damage, combo attacks, and team synergy rather than direct frontline combat. While he may not immediately stand out as a traditional DPS unit, Uryu becomes surprisingly effective when paired with characters that frequently use techniques and special attacks.
The core of his kit revolves around the Quincy Mark mechanic. By using various attacks, Uryu accumulates Quincy Marks that can later be consumed whenever an active ally uses a Technique. This automatically triggers powerful combo attacks, allowing him to contribute damage even while off the field. As a result, Uryu fits naturally into fast-paced teams that constantly cycle abilities and maintain offensive pressure.
One of his strongest features is his Battlefield Skill, which grants the entire team a significant boost to type-based damage while active. This makes him much more than a simple damage dealer, as he also functions as a valuable support unit capable of enhancing the performance of his allies. His combo attacks further increase his Critical Rate, creating a snowball effect that improves his damage output throughout extended engagements.
At higher Boundary levels, Uryu gains additional utility through Thrust Resistance reduction, helping both himself and other thrust-oriented characters deal increased damage. Combined with strong critical scaling from his weapon stamp and passive effects, he can become a reliable source of sustained DPS.
Although his mechanics are powerful, Uryu requires proper team building to reach his full potential. Players who simply keep him on the field and ignore his combo system may find his performance underwhelming.
