Bandai Namco Entertainment officially opened the Closed Beta Test (CBT) applications for BLEACH Mirrors High, a new mobile action game set in the Bleach universe. Alongside the announcement, in the official website, a new trailer premiered, giving fans their first proper look at the game. The deadline to sign up for the beta passed a few days ago, so if you didn’t sign up in time (or didn’t receive an invitation), we can expect a second CBT.

Note: The story takes place after the Thousand-Year Blood War, making it a direct continuation of the anime and manga. Since the story is written by Bleach’s original creator, the new characters may be the children of some of the Gotei 13 captains. We might even see Ichigo’s son and other new characters as the story progresses.

New Characters by Tite Kubo

The game introduces two new original Soul Reapers designed by series creator Tite Kubo himself: Shirin Migishima and Shirane Sanari, who serve as the dual protagonists of this original story. Kubo mentioned he was heavily involved from the very beginning:

“For this project, I have been involved from the kickoff meeting and worked on the title, scenario, and character designs. As for character designs, I got so excited working on them and ended up doing more than what was requested.”

He also confirmed that the story is partly related to the main scenario of the comics, which aligns with the post-Thousand-Year Blood War setting.

What to Expect

Well, first of all, it’s a gacha game, which, strangely enough, seems to be competing with Bleach Soul Resonance —or at least that’s what I thought until I saw the gameplay, which is reminiscent of games like Dragon Ball Legends. Players will also be able to customize their own Soul Reaper avatar as they progress through an original narrative set after the events of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc.

With the closed beta kicking off on July 22, selected applicants will get the first chance to experience what Bandai Namco has been building. If you applied, keep an eye on your inbox — selection emails are expected to go out shortly.
