Jamir America Tournament

Considerations

For the Jamir America Ranking, the system takes into account the number of times a participant has won the tournament, the number of times they have reached a final, and the number of times they have advanced to the semifinals, as well as the most recent date of participation, and uses this information to calculate their position based on their score. It also factors in an ELO rating to determine individual skill level.

I’d like to be able to compile an absolute ranking that takes into account all of Jamir’s participations and placements over the years, but this data is very difficult to obtain, since we never had an official leaderboard from Tencent or GTArcade, and many group stages weren’t streamed—especially in the early years. Much of the Jamir America archive relies on YouTube streams from content creators who are no longer active in the game.

It’s also important to note that on many occasions, the tournament experienced a bug, and matches weren’t played in certain stages—or even in the middle of a match. Here, the Americas record only counts what was completed on the official server, without accounting for system errors or other issues.
