Reno Ichikawa [Signs of Awakening] is a Shot-Element Attacker who specializes in resistance reduction and debuff synergy. He shines in teams built around status ailments, enabling both himself and his allies to land debuffs more reliably while increasing overall damage output.
His Ultimate is particularly valuable, as it reduces a Kaiju’s Effect RES, making it easier for the entire team to inflict debuffs and status effects. This makes him an excellent partner for characters who rely on Burn, Shock, Freeze, or other ailments to function at full power.
With his Combat Skill, Reno applies Gunshot Wound, a debuff that allows him to trigger additional damage when he follows up with his Combat Skill or Ultimate. This creates a simple but effective damage loop that rewards proper target focus.
Additionally, his Passive Skill increases his Ultimate Gauge whenever Gunshot Wound deals damage, allowing him to cycle his Ultimate faster than expected. Overall, Reno is a solid debuff-oriented DPS who performs best in coordinated, status-heavy team compositions.
Tier List Placement: T4 Attacker. While this ranking reflects that there are stronger options available, Reno Ichikawa [Signs of Awakening] has been available since February 2026 and currently occupies T4 in the Attacker tier. While his debuff-focused kit provides unique utility, his personal damage output is modest, and he functions best as a secondary DPS or debuff enabler rather than a primary carry.
Reno’s Dynamic Targeting applies Gunshot Wound, a debuff that triggers additional Shot damage when he follows up with skills. His Burst Fire Ultimate reduces the target’s Effect RES, making it easier for the entire team to land debuffs. This makes him an excellent partner for status-heavy compositions built around Burn, Shock, Freeze, or other ailments. His passive Vigorous Shooting further rewards attacking Gunshot Wound enemies with bonus damage and Ultimate Gauge.
Reno’s Clear Judgment passive allows him to generate Ultimate Gauge whenever his bonus damage triggers, helping him cycle his Ultimate faster. However, his damage numbers are not high enough to justify using him as a main DPS. He is best deployed as a debuff support who also contributes some damage, particularly in teams where Effect RES reduction and debuff synergy are valuable. For most content, higher-tier Attackers will outperform him as primary damage dealers.
